Overcome writer’s block by improving your mindset
Write your book with more confidence, less self-sabotage, more consistency
About Writer’s mindset
Dear writer,
If you’ve been struggling to make progress on your book, but you don’t know why, you’re not alone. And you’re in the right place.
This website was created for writers who know they want to write, but somehow keep getting stuck along the way.
Here you’ll find articles, reflections, tools, and coaching resources to help you better understand what’s happening beneath the surface of writer’s block, so you can get back to writing the book that matters to you.
Who is it for?
01
Fiction writers
Revising your outline for the 37th time? Getting lost in world building? Starring endlessly at the blinking cursor right in the middle of Act 2? Time to see what’s behind this…
02
Nonfiction writers
Trying to build authority by publishing a book? Wondering if you’re legit enough to share your expertise? Feeling like a newbie writer even though you’re the boss at work? We should talk…
03
Memoir writers
Afraid of being judged when sharing your life’s story? Feeling vulnerable and exposed? Second-guessing if it’s a good idea to publish that memoir? Let’s create some safety within yourself…
What causes writer’s block?
It’s NOT a lack of discipline or ideas and it’s NOT laziness!
There are many emotional reasons behind writer’s block, and the details are different for every author. But some of the most common ones (which can be present at the same time) include :
-
Perfectionism
“This chapter isn’t good enough yet. I need to fix it before I continue writing.”
-
Imposter syndrome
“Who am I to write a book? I’m not cut out to be an author!”
-
Fear of judgment
“What if people think this story is terrible? Maybe I should keep it to myself.”
-
Fear of failure
“What if nobody wants to read my book? Is it worth investing the time and effort?”

Who I am
Hello, my name is Emily
I’m an author and mindset coach for writers. I help aspiring and established authors navigate the doubts, fears, and emotional roller coasters that come with writing a book.
How I help authors overcome writer’s block
When writing feels impossible, there’s usually a reason.
Maybe you’ve told yourself:
“I just need to be more disciplined.”
“I need to stop procrastinating.”
“I need to finally get my act together.”
But what if the problem isn’t that you’re lazy or incapable?
What if there’s a reason your brain keeps putting up resistance every time you try to write?
As a mindset coach for writers, I help you uncover the patterns behind writer’s block… Whether it’s perfectionism, fear, self-doubt, overwhelm, or something else entirely.
Together, we’ll look beyond the surface-level struggle and understand what’s actually keeping you stuck.
Because when you stop fighting yourself, writing becomes easier to approach.
Not perfect.
Not effortless.
But possible.
What my clients say
Working with Emily was exactly what I needed at a time when I felt completely stuck with my writing. I couldn’t seem to get started, kept procrastinating and the more I tried to push through, the more disconnected I felt from my own ideas.
Emily helped me understand why I was holding myself back. Thanks to her kindness, understanding and guidance, I found not only the motivation to write again, but a whole new excitement for my ideas and for putting them on paper!!

Emily helps you turn the negative into positive and take action. There is a simplicity in the way she coaches, and this allowed me to talk and release my thoughts. She helped me think about what is within my control right now and the two things I could focus on. That’s how I managed to reach my goal. Emily has the ability to bring genuine positive energy while being grounded and realistic. She empathises with difficult emotions but helps you move towards more positive outcomes in a realistic way and create a SMART plan. She is 10/10!
